"No, never could we leave you..." Okay, we did leave you for a few months there... but we're back now! Please forgive us. Here's an update.
Last month, Francesca was awarded 1st Place at the 2015
Cal-Western regional National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) competition. She also went on to win 1st Place in both Aria and Art Song at the Bay Area Chapter NATS
competition--despite being the youngest competitor in both divisions! So, basically she's doing just fine even without Isabella as her accompanist! (Francesca also played Adele in
Die Fledermaus at Stanford, in February.)
This summer, Francesca will remain to California to study singing and acting--first at OperaWorks, and then at a musical theater intensive taught by conductor Rob Fisher. In the fall, Francesca will be part of the new Stanford in New York City program. She will spend an academic quarter in NYC, combining coursework with an internship at an arts organization.
Isabella is at work on an original music-theater piece on Internet sentience, to be produced in May 2015 as part of the Central Square Theater Youth Underground Lab Showcase in Cambridge, MA. She is excited to announce that HowlRound: A Center for the Theater Commons at Emerson College has graciously offered to livestream the performance! And Isabella is also penning a series of HowlRound blog posts on the play-making process. Look out for those links here, soon!
Isabella will then spend this summer as a member of the vocal company at the College Light Opera Company in Cape Cod. They do nine shows in eleven weeks!
Whew, that's it for now! We will share our news more regularly! Promise!
